Charlie and Lola is a fun filled and imaginative animated series for young children that focuses on the special relationship between siblings, Charlie and Lola. The stories tell how they handle the ‘stresses’ that they, as young children, encounter everyday. They solve these normal mundane tasks using their imagination and fantasy turning them into exciting adventures! Children relate to the numerous dilemmas Charlie and Lola face and want to become part of the magical, imaginative stories.
The television series is based on an awarding winning series of books written by Lauren Child. Which are much loved globally. The first book in the series, “I will never ever eat a tomato”, was published in 2001 and since then there have been seven more book titles and two highly successful television series each comprising of 26, 11 minute episodes.
The principle characters are Charlie and Lola. Lola is Charlie’s little sister and he thinks she is small and………….very funny. It often falls on Charlie to keep an eye on high-spirited Lola and coax her round to a more reasoned way of thinking. This can be a busy job as Lola is always extremely busy doing lots and lots of things all at once.

Charlie is seven – He likes rockets, making racing cars and playing football with his friend Marv, who lives downstairs and goes to the same school. Charlie’s relationship with Lola is very special. He thinks she is illogical and funny and she makes him laugh – a lot! Together they can go anywhere and be anything. Charlie will do anything for Lola ……….unless she breaks his favourite toy.

Lola is four, but very nearly five. She likes pink milk, swimming with whales and her best friend Lotta. She also likes sizzles, Marvs dog. Oh and don't forget Soren Lorensen her imaginary friend. No one else can see him except Lola, but when they are on there own, Lola and Soren talk openly and put the world to rights. Lola also knows what she doesn’t like and feels ever so strongly about it. She will never ever eat a tomato! But above all things Lola loves her brother Charlie.
